Hi Terry! I just stumbled across your musical on youtube, and I'm so sad to see you're performing the last one this March! I have family in Portslade, and it was always a "special treat" to take the bus to Brighton. I'll always love Brighton&Hove, and you definitely pinpointed all of the hilarious quirks that makes the area so great. You had me crying from laughing so hard! I live and go to university in the states (Atlanta, Georgia), but if I could find any way to, I'd come and see your last show in Brighton! Best wishes from a new, young fan! xoxo

Hi Terry, I just wanted to say that 'The Last Bus To Whitehawk' show was my favourite radio show of all time. It was brilliant entertainment and I would even try to tune in to a muffled version whilst I was on duty in the CCTV room of that famous 'outer London borough'!! Yes, I am indeed CCTV Marc one of your regular callers (and Facebook 'friend'). I remember you'd ask me what was happening in the 'outer London borough' and I would tell you if there had been any sightings of the infamous 'car shagger', the loon who would have sex with parked cars in the multi-storey car parks! You are sadly missed on the airwaves as there has never been a show like it since. Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful laugh for all those years. Best wishes Marc Caucutt. PS: it was Croydon!!

I have many fond memories of the Crocodile Club at the old Concorde, including great sets by Harry Hill and Tim Vine, as well as buying a dishevelled Malcolm Hardee a drink and hearing him tell me and my mate how he discovered Vic Reeves. I used to come quite regularly with a small and quite boisterous group. We adored those Thursday nights but the best thing about it and the main reason we came was for your brilliant MC-ing and of course the Brighton songs which brought us all together in laughter and recognition of our wonderful town and community. I'll never forget the night I spent sitting with a mate at that intimate little table close to the stage at the left (for you) near the bar when you were merciless in your innuendo! Was it really more than fifteen years ago!? Happy days.

Terry! Don't leave us! Yes it's your natural home, the Dome, but don't be proud - Hove will have you! The Old Market, or the old town hall, surely? Or what about something less usual - I think Brighton Station would be a great venue - in the middle of the night... or the old Municipal Market in Circus Street? Bring your own cushion...
I bet you don't like to be told the songs you ought to write! But even so, I'm going to risk a suggestion: what about The North Laine Shuffle? Have you ever tried to get down Kensington Gardens on a Saturday? Did you know that people actually live there? Yes, I am harbouring a slight grudge about my street never being name-checked in any song... so far....

Terry,
I have to come to the Dome in 09 and witness the BTM show. I used to live in Brighton a few years back (above the nudest beach -opposite Dukes Mound) and am now a responsible father, but all i have to do is play the 2000 or 2004 cds and instantly i'm smiling again. You must have been pissing yourself when writing the material and to keep a straight face on stage, I salute you.
Many thanks for the entertainment and memory recollections.

Penny xx
i remember listening to you ages ago when i was little,
i didn't get half the jokes but i do remember one obnoxious kid "you vegetarian cannibal"
cracked me right up
And wen ya used to read news articles, made me laff -
Kono Pizza
So what’s this news? Food news- hmmmm.
An Italian company, is come up with the latest in fast food.
A pizza that thinks it’s an ice cream. Hmmm, yum yum yum yum!
So what’s it called? The Kono Pizza. Spelt K-o-n-o pizza
It’s shaped like a Cornetto?...Right, right!
But it’s a load of cheese tomato and fillings, in a cone, shaped, dough?
Right, I’m with that!
That’ll catch on yeah. No it will!
So it’s sort of like a sort of kebab like thing init? Some sort of wrap
There we go.
I’ll have two Kono please? Cause that’s what it’ll be called, two Kono!
Er yeah, chilli and extra cheese.
Poor Dumbo
What’s have we got here?
Erm. elephant gets depressed. Yeah well?
An elephant here, they got to the town. They’re a travelling circus right.
They get to this town in Spain.
And the laws of the land won’t allow animals to participate in public shows
So the animal, the elephant, pardon me, has to be taken away.
And they took it to a police station!
I don’t think they put it behind bars or anything.
And as a result of which, the circus is in town for three weeks.
The elephant has got depressed.
Yeah, got a depression! How the hell do they know that?
Was it, I suppose it just don’t want to go out at night. Won’t answer the phone.
That kind of thing. Smoking more than it normally does!
Gone off it’s food, you know?
What, how they know the elephant got depressed?
So they’re treating it for stress. Separation from the rest of the other animals.
Thought, I’d share that with you brother and sisters.
It was hardly worth it, was it?

I have been living in Spain for 30 years and do not get over to Brighton as often as I would like. Still see friends from school: Steve Bliss, Keith Mattcks,Aubrey Champ.
Congrats on your success and take care Terry.
Terry,
I have to come to the Dome in 09 and witness the BTM show.
Hey Terry.

I have recently moved back here to Brighton and dug out my old 'Terry Garroghan Sings Brighton The Musical' CD which rings truer now than ever, despite the changes to the town centre, maybe I am more mature and now get some of your references (im 26), I am skint at the mo bro but I will be there to celebrate 25 years showbiz with ya, aslong as you dont sell out too soon.
Tim

i remember listening to you ages ago when i was little,

Before me get da puntas tellin to to shurrup and am talkin rubbish. And tellin me to lern peoper gramma. Hey, am lzy git and do wap textinit.
Dis is wot me means...

And then a machine puts your trouser on your arms.
And there's a knock at the door, and it's a penguin wearing a marigold on it's head.
